Roles and permissions

The two roles in Growth Method, and what each can do.

Growth Method keeps roles deliberately simple. We believe effective marketing teams run on transparency, so there’s no complex permissions system to manage.

The two roles

Role Who it’s for What they can do
Team manager The marketing team manager or director Read and write across the app, including team settings (goals, adding users)
Team member Everyone else on the team (the default) Read and write across the app, with read-only access to team settings

The only practical difference: managers can change team settings; members see those settings as read-only.

Subscribers

Subscribers are a separate, lightweight role for sharing campaign reports with internal and external stakeholders. See subscribers.

Removing someone from a team

People can belong to more than one team and switch between them (an agency manager might be on several client accounts), so removing someone takes them off one team without affecting the others.

Team managers can remove a member directly:

  1. Open Team settings and select Users.
  2. Find the person in the list and select Remove on their row.
  3. Confirm in the Remove from team? prompt.

They lose access to that team straight away, across the web app and any connected API tokens, and they stop receiving its email notifications. They can no longer switch back to it. Their account stays, and their past work (campaigns, comments, and other contributions) stays with their name shown. If they belong to other teams, they keep those.

Only managers can remove people, and only other members. You will not see a Remove option for yourself or the person who owns the team.

Deleting an account

Removing someone from a team does not delete their Growth Method account. To delete an account completely, contact support@growthmethod.com.
